Introduction Important People Hobbies & Interests

My Family

"Families are like branches on a tree. We grow in different directions yet our root remains as one"

The pictures below are of my family members. Everyone's family are people they would have known for their whole lives, in most cases. There will be some people in the family we're closer to, and inevitably some we are not as close to. However our relationship with them may be, we know we can count on them at the end of the day to be there for us. Here are some things about my family:

Parents:

"Our parents deserve our honour and respect for giving us life itself. Beyond this they almost always make countless sacrifices as they cared for and nurtured us through our infancy and childhood, provided us with the necessities of life, and nursed us through physical illnesses and the emotional stresses of growing up."

• They're the reason I'm even alive to begin with, and even though there are times we don't get along or when we quarrel and fight, I know there'll always be on my side.
• We may not talk a much to each other, but when I need to, they will be there to listen and help me to their best of abilities.
• My parents may not be highly educated or anything like that, but they still try their best to help me when I need and support me either emotionally, morally and financially, in my decisions.
• I know I can count on my parents to be there for me, and they have my best interests at heart even if at times their logic makes no sense to me. However, eventually I can see things from their point of view.
• My parents have always been supportive of my decisions and they trust me to make my own.

My Mami:

"A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path. ~.Agatha Christie"

• My mother is a really strong-minded, friendly, kind, and understanding woman.
• She has always tried to compromise to my father, my sister, and me. Putting us before herself, and always getting stuck in the middle when my sister or I quarrel with my dad.
• I may not show my gratitude for all the things my mother have done for me, but I really appreciate it and I'm really thankful for her.
• Despite the times we quarrel or have cold wars, I know she means well for me at the end of the day. Her decisions and actions are done with consideration of my well-being.
• There's also this thing where my mother always asks for details if I'm going out (such as: who am I going with, where am I going, what time will I be back, etc...), I can see that she does this so as to be able to know I'm safe. Plus there is no harm telling her when I'm not doing anything wrong.

My Papi:

"Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a dad."

• My father is a really soft-hearted, family-driven, considerate, sensitive, and easy-going man.
• He may have a "genearation gap" with my sister and I, which makes it sometimes hard for him to understand the way we speak or react to things, and it affects him.
• It has taken me quite a while to see and understand that his thinking is more, as they call, traditional and that I have to be careful of the way I phrase things so as to not hurt him.
• Also due to this "genearation gap", we don't exactly have that much to talk about, but I can see he always tries to talk to my sister and I. I have learnt over time that I have to be considerate and not reply in a way that'd end the conversation or make me seem annoyed.
• Since I do still have a temper problem (not as bad as previously as I'm working on it), I need to take note of how I speak to my father, but now that I understand things better, I am more aware and cautious.

Sister:

"You & I are sisters. Always remember that if you fall I will pick you up after I finish laughing."

• She's my younger sister and my only sibling.
• She's someone I have known since she was born, and we have our times when we get along, and of course times where we don't. Those times where we don't would either be an argument, or the silent treatment. However, this always blows over after a period of time.
• There are times where she annoys me so much, but she is still my sister, and there are also times she is nice to me.
• We used to quarrel a lot, but as of now, we don't. Even if we do, it's more over trival and meaningless stuff, and we'd talk again in not long.
• Sibling quarrels for us are quite trival and we get over them eventually.
• At the end of the day, we can count on each other to be there for one another, or help us when we need.

Grandparents:

"A grandparent is someone with silver in their hair and gold in their heart."

• Despite the fact that my grandparents are seperated, I still see them from time to time. More so my grandmother as I'm closer to her, and basically the maternal side of the family.
• Even though I don't see my grandfather or the paternal side of my family that much, I still see them from time to time.
• My grandmother, who I'm closer with, takes care of my 4 (baby) cousins.
• When I was younger I stayed over at my grandmother's or aunt's a lot, and my grandmother always makes great food and takes me places with her. • As for my grandfather, I'm not as close to him, and I don't see him as often as I do with my grandmother.
• (Since I don't see my grandfather much, I don't actually have a picture with him.)

Aunt, Uncles:

• Since young, my aunt and uncle always takes care of us when we stay over and such.
• My aunt earns more than my parents, and usually she would treat my sister and I to good food, or sometimes when we go on family overseas trip, she'd be the one planning and paying more.
• I don't see my uncle a lot, as he has his hobbies and friends and is out a lot. So, we don't exactly talk that much or anything.
• My aunt treats us really well, and when she married, I got another uncle and he treats us well too.
• Despite the fact that, this other uncle is kind of goofy, he treats us nicely too.
• Both my aunt and him are pretty smart and have taught me my homework when I was younger, they were slightly strict but it helped me.
• I don't exactly have a picture with my other uncle.

My Ah Yee:

"Only an aunt can give hugs like a mother , keep secrets like a sister, and share love like a friend"

(Baby) Cousins:

"Cousins are connected heart to heart , distance and time can't break them apart."

• I have 4 (baby) cousins, aged 6, 4, 2, and a newborn. They're all so cute and it's always fun to play with them when I'm over at my aunt's or my grandmother's.
• They are just kids, so mostly all they want to do is play, and sometimes that is really good as I can get my mind off the things I'm stressed about, and just play with them.
• Seeing them grow up is also really fun, as I can see the change over time, from when they need to be carried to when they can walk, from when they mumbles inaudible words to speaking actual words to holding conversations, and they slowly grow up and learn more things along the way.

My Friends

"Friends are like angels that lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."

The pictures to the right are of my friends. Friends are people we meet at differents points of our lives. There will be true friends and fake friends. Those who truly mean well for you and is there for you when you need are true friends. Those who have ulterior motives to befriend you and just wants to use you or betray you would be examples of fake friends. We may not be abe to differentiate them at the start, but eventually we'd learn to. At the end of the day, in times of our need, we know that we can count on our true friends to be there for us. Here are some things about my friends:

Secondary School Friends:
• They are the people who have been there for me throughout the ups and downs of my secondary school chaos.
• I can't be more thankful for them, and all the times they helped me or cheered me up when I needed.
• They were there for me when I was down generally or due to struggles in studies or my grades, and also when I needed a friend.
• We have a lot of memorable memories, even simple things like hanging out after school was some of the best times.
• Even though, a lot of us in our clique have parted ways and are in different Polytchnics and even different courses, sometimes we still talk and hang out. • I'd always remember the times they've been there for me.

Polytechnic Friends:
• I've only met them for less than a year as of now, but there are some that I have gotten close to.
• So far, they've been here for me, either to cheer me up when I'm down, or even just when I'm struggling in school.
• Despite the short amount of time we've known each other so far, some of us have gotten pretty close, and it's easy to talk to them and just hang out with them.
• Before starting school in poly, I thought I wouldn't be able to make much friends as I'm not a person who makes friends easily, and that I usually don't exactly take the initiative to make friends. Plus, most of the people in my class are guys, and it's harder for me to talk to guys due to how awkward I am.
• However, in the end, I was still able to have made friends and even have a few people I'm close to.

Outside Friends:
• Outside of school context, I've made friends and they have been there for me a lot of times when I needed. Some of which are online friends, others are people I met outside of school.
• I'm really grateful for all my friends and all they've done for me.
• Especially my online friends, as they were there in times when I needed, even when my friends weren't available.
• Due to the different time zones, some of my online friends could be there for me at random timing where normally my friends can't.
• Despite that time difference, we are still able to communicate pretty well, and I am grateful for all the times they were there when I needed, and just for having met them.

My Online Friends:

The friends I have never met. It's strange to have a friend that you've never hugged, shook their hands, or looked into their eyes. But you have been touched by this soul, seen the good in their hearts, and felt the warmth of their being. The friends I have never met are not my friends untouched, for I have felt them with me when I needed them. I have confided in them and they are some of the kindest people I have ever known.
